Shipwreck Submarine HNLMS K XVIII

This Dutch submarine was severely damaged due to Japanese depth charges and forced to return to Surabaya for repairs. She was eventually scuttled on 2 March 1942 in order to prevent the Japanese from capturing the boat. The K XVIII was raised by the Japanse navy in 1944 and converted into an air warning picket hulk and deployed in the Madura Strait. She was torpedoed by the British submarine Taciturn.
