81st Infantry Division Memorial

This memorial is dedicated to the men of the 81st U.S. Infantry Division "Wildcats" who participated together with the 1st U.S. Marine Division in the Battle of Peleliu (15.9.1944 - 27.11.1944). This was also the place where the American war dead were buried temporarily.
