In the former Girls H.B.S. was a barracks of the Kriegsmarine established during the occupation. Canadians tried to march towards the Nieuwe Ebbingestraat into the city center. In the school of the Navy were 200 Germans encamped. These soldiers left on Sunday around 6 pm the building. On Saturday 22 trucks with ammunition and other weaponry were brought to the school. In Hofstraat the school was placed in defense by the Germans present, most Germans were overtired.
