It is one of the largest and finest collections in the area of uniforms, weapons and armour in the world. The museum consists of 8 different sections: Louis XIV, Napoleon, weapons and armour, World Wars, Artillery, Emblems, historical figures and Iconography. You get a picture of the war in France, the liberation in 1944, the resistance, the Vichy government and the restoration of the French army after the invasion of Normandy. Of course there is much attention given to General de Gaulle, along with other Commanders, such as: Lattre de Tassigny, Koenig, Juin and Leclerc. In addition, the subjects of deportation, the fall of Germany and the surrender of Japan are also present in the collection.
