German Submarines Memorial

This memorial (U-Boot Denkmal) was build in 1936 for the killed crews of submarines in the First World War. In 1970 en 1984, 116 bronze plaques were attached to the memorial. On these plaques are the names of the crewmembers of sunken submarines of both World Wars: 5,249 names of the First World War and 30,003 names of the Second World War.
