Breakwater Japanese Shipwrecks

Tokyo and Iwo Jima, Japan
In the Spring of 1945, U.S. 'Navy Seabees' sank 24 captured Japanese transport ships here to establish a breakwater for better supplying of Iwo Jima. This project was not a succes and was quickly abandoned. The wrecks are still there.
