Crash Location Halifax LK792


On 17 june 1994 at 1:57 Halifax LK 792 crashed at the Driesprong near Ede. The aircraft of the Canadian ‘Blue Nose’ 434 Squadron based at Croft, had been shot down by a German night fighter. It was on the return flight from a bomb raid on Sterkrade. The seven crew members all perished: F/O William M. McQueen, pilot RCAF, 24 yrs P/O Mike Habiluk, pilot RCAF F/O Douglas F. McAllister, navigator RCAF, 21 yrs P/O William G. Pearcey, flight engineer RAF, 19 yrs P/O Arthur Warrington, wireless operator RAF P/O Philip A. Kingston, bomb aimer RCAF, 20 yrs P/O Charles T. beech, airgunner RCAF Initially they were all buried at [towid]1656,General Cemetery in Ede[/towid]. Postwar the Canadian crew members were reburied at the [towid]512,Canadian War Cemetery in Groesbeek[/towid]. There’s no memorial at the crash site.
