Anvaing Castle

Anvaing Castle has been built during the 16th century. At the end of the Battle of Belgium there took place a historical event. On the 28th of May 1940, the Belgian army surrendered, led by General Desrousseaux (who signed the capitulation), around 10 a.m. The Germans were represents with General-Major Friedrich Paulus and General Walter von Reichenau. After the capitulation, von Reichenau contacted Hitler. There should be also a bullet hole in the dining room (where Desrousseaux signed the capitulation). The bullet hole should be formed by a German officer who was overjoyed about the capitulation. Picture 3 has been taken near the church of Anvaing.
