In February 1946 the last breach of the dyke at Ritthem was closed after an earlier attempt which had failed. This opening in the dyke has been filled with sand, clay, stones, torpedo webbing, steel containers, concrete Phoenix-caissons you can see [url=https://www.tracesofwar.com/sights/12555/Phoenix-caisson-Rammekens-Ritthem.htm"]here[/url] The left over beetles have also been used to close the smaller breaches of the dyke at Rammekens.
