Text Monument Colonel Mariot, the officers, non-commissioned officers and soldiers of the 7th GRDI, 18th GRCA Dragons, 48th RI and 1st Loyal Regiment (BEF) Who fought bravely on 2 June 1940 on the territory of Coudekerque-Village and delayed the German army's advance. Their courage and bravery contributed significantly to the success of Operation Dynamo. It was at this farm ‘Boomkens’ that Colonel Mariot set up his command post on 2 June 1940 and that the Vandamme family, who owned the estate, were killed. Monument inaugurated on 6 June 2010 (memorial plaque renovated in May 2020)
