This airport was bought by Lockheed in 1940 and changed its name to "Lockheed Air Terminal". Lochheed used the airport to test and deliver aircraft. Lockheed had its factory next to the airport, where P-38, Hudson and B-17 aircraft were built. The AAF's Air Technical Services Command also used the airfield during the war. In 1978 the airfield was sold to the cities of Burbank, Glendale and Pasadena.
