Louis Joubert's Dry Dock Saint-Nazaire

Av. De La Forme Joubert, Saint-Nazaire
Pays-de-la-Loire, France

On the morning of March 28, 1942, the destroyer ship HMS Campbeltown, packed with 8,500 pounds of explosives, rammed into the German-controlled port of St. Nazaire and successfully destroyed the dock that was critically important for the German Navy in a massive explosion. The ship was obliterated. The Louis Joubert Lock (dry dock) is also known as the Normandie Dock. There are two information boards on the other side of the lock.
