The churchyard in ‘s Herenhelderen contains the grave of a military victim of the Second World War. It concerns Gustave Louis ROLIN-HYMANS, killed in action on 11 May 1940 in 's Herenelderen. During the air raids on the bridges of the Albert Canal on 11 May 1940 the Fairey Battle T58 of Adj. Pilot G. Timmermans and 1st Sergeant Rolin-Hymans was shot down by a German aircraft. The plane crashed in s' Herenelderen and both were killed.
