At the general cemetery of Lekkerkerk, municipality of Krimpenerwaard, is a memorial of Floris Bernardus Sloof. Floris was a corporal engineer on board Hr. Ms. Java, which was sunk by Japanese warships in the Java Sea on 27 February 1942.
