On the corner of the Karel Doormanstraat and the Joost Bancketrplaats in Rotterdam this bust of Karel Doorman is situated. Made by artist Willem Verbon (Rotterdam, 1921- 2003). Inaugurated in 1959, unveiled by his son T.W.R Doorman, in the presence of numerous dignitaries and the widow of Karel Doorman.
