Remains Type 97 Chi-Ha Tanks

Capital Territory, Solomon Islands

On 24 October 1942, these Japanese Type 97 Chi-Ha tanks were knocked out by U.S. Marines during an attempt to cross the Matanikau river. At least one wreck can be found submerged at the river mouth. Others either disappeared or were buried under the sand.
