Crash Site & Remains Lockheed Hudson Mark III A16-165

On 4 March 1942, Lockheed Hudson Mark III A16-165 crashed on Urai Island. The plane was on a mission, hit by Japanese anti-aircraft and crashed, killing 3 of the 4 crew. Flight Lieutenant ERWIN suffered a broken leg, and was removed from the location by natives and enemy troops. Later that day he was executed.
