Iwo Jima War Memorial

This memorial is located at the Marine Military Academy in Harlingen. This memorial was used as the model for the [towid]8726,memorial in Arlington[/towid]. There is also a small museum with artefacts from the Battle of Iwo Jima and the history of the men in the statue. The men in the memorial are: Sgt Michael Strank, Cpl Harlon Block, PFC Franklin Sousley, PFC Rene Gagnon, PFC Ira Hayes and PM2 John Bradley.
