Intrepid Sea-Air-Space Museum

This museum contains three museumships. One of these is the USS Intrepid (CV-11), an aircraft carrier from the Essex-class which served in the Second World awr and fought many battles in the Pacific. After a large modernization she served until 1974. The otther two warships, the submarine USS Growler and the destroyer USS Edson, are post-war. The museum does also display a collection of aircraft, including several of the Second World War and an exhibition about the USS Intrepid in the Second World War.
