Fort Shafter

From 1907 on, Fort Shafter is a military base on Oahu. During the attack on Pearl Harbor, on 7 December 1941, one soldier was killed on this location. During the Second World War there were several headquarters here: U.S. Army Forces, Central Pacific Area (1943-1944), U.S. Army Forces, Pacific Ocean Areas (1944-1945) and U.S. Army Forces, Middle Pacific (1945-1947). Fort Shafter is also known as Palm Circle or 100 Area. It is a U.S. National Historic Landmark.
