Crash Site PBY-5A Catalina

This PBY-5A Catalina belonged to US Navy VP-43 and was hit by a Japanese AA shell on 14 June 1942. The burning plane crashed into the snowy Kiska volcano slope and all seven crew members were killed. Due to crash site location it was only in 2003 until the bodies were recovered and identified.
