Immola Airfield

Immola
Etelä-Karjala, Finland

This airfield (built in 1933) was used by the Finnish Air Force and the German Luftwaffe during the Second World War. It was bombed by the Red Army in 1944. Adolf Hitler landed here on June 4, 1942, to meet Mannerheim and Ryti. Hitler was then taken to Mannerheim's train in the nearby forest.
