In memory of Field Marshal Lord Bernard MONTGOMERY during his visit to Kerksken on 16 March 1945 as a tribute to our liberation by the forces of the 11th Armoured Division 2nd British Army and to all in their fight for our freedom. Originally the date 3 September 1944 was mentioned on the memorial.
