These memorial stones (so called Stolpersteine or stumbling blocks) commemorate the massacre in Meina. Members of the 1. SS-Panzer-Division Leibstandarte SS Adolf Hitler murdered on this location 56 Jews in the night from 22 to 23 September 1943. Among the dead were 16 guests of the Meina Hotel.
