The text on the plaque is:[i] On May 5th 1995, 50 years after the liberation of the Netherlands by Canadian Troops, this Maple Leaf tree was planted and a new tulip was named "Canadian Veteran", as a symbol of friendship and respect between Holland and Canada.[/i]
