On the Municipal Cemetery are the graves of five war victims. Their names are: Daniel Doldersum, Mandemaker born 18-04-1878 in Ruinen 12-04-1945 deceased at Borger Lourens de Groot, Opperwachtmeester Kon.Marechaussee born 13-07-1906 to Rotsterhaule 10-07-1944 deceased at Grootegast Klaas Klaassen, Farmer born 17-01-1922 in Ees 10-11-1944 deceased at Zöschen Merseburg (D) Hendrik Meijeringh, architect and member of the Resistance born 12-03-1890 in Borger 08-03-1945 deceased at Woeste Hoeve Apeldoorn Roelof Oosting, Farmer born 08-04-1911 in Borger 18-09-1944 deceased at Freeze On the cemetery is also the grave of Cornelis Pieter Wardenburg, who died in former Yugoslavia in 1994.
