On 30-09-1944 eight resistance men attack a German car near the Oldenaller bridge. Two officers are injured and one of them dies. On 01-10-1944 people of Putten and Nijkerk are imprisoned in the Old church. The next day, the women and the children go home and 661 men will be deported to Neuengamme. After liberation are only 49 men returned.
