Husein Sastranegara International Airport

This airport was built by the Dutch as KNIL airfield. It was captured by the Japanese in 1942. The Dutch war hero Jacob Pieter van Helsdingen took off from this airfield and later died on a suicide mission against an airfield occupied by Japanese forces.
