Atomic Bomb Loading Pit 1

Tinian, Northern Mariana Islands
From this pit, the atomic bomb "Little Boy" was loaded into the B-29 "Enola Gay" on August 6, 1945 and eventually dropped above Hiroshima. "Little Boy" caused the death of approxiametly 200.000 people by 1950, of whom 70.000 were killed instantly by the blast.
