* Built 1933-1936. * Opened on 6-7-1936 by Rudolf Heß. * Exploded 3-4-1945 against Allied troops. Lt. Peter Kostow, tank commander U S Army crossed the bridge on foot hours before the German army blew it up. He was the first Allied soldier to cross the Rhine River. He checked the Bridge for explosives and returned to the Allied side to report the status of the bridge. * Rebuilt nov. 1950 and named „Krefeld-Uerdinger-Brücke"
