Chapel of the Resistance

This chapel is build in 1946, to commemorate the more than 100 members of the resistance who were killed in this area. They were members of the White Brigade ("Witte Brigade"). The chapel is build in the forest where the hiding place (code-name 'Anatol') if the resistance was. In September 1944, several resistance groups came together to fight the occupiers. By treason, the Germans knew about this meeting and attacked the hiding-place. Dozens of resistance-members were killed or taken prison. In the forest crosses mark the locations where resistance-members were shot.
