Heeresgeschichtliches Museum

Arsenal 1, A-1030, Wien
Wien, Austria

The Museum of Military History, one of the most important history museums in the world, is situated right in the centre of the Arsenal. In five major sections the museum shows the history of the Habsburg empire from the end of the 16th century until 1918 and Austria's fate after the dissolution of the monarchy up to the year 1945. One main section is dedicated to a very sensitive period in Austria's more recent history, as it illustrates the time from the dissolution of the monarchy via the period between the two wars and the Second World War to the Second Republic.
