Monument 6th Armored Division

Heinerscheid
Diekirch, Luxembourg

The monument consists of two pieces of wall that are placed left and right from the centre piece. This centre piece is a metal construction. On both sides in the walls, plaques have been bricked in. In front of the monument there is a flat concrete slab in the grass on which the route of the 6th US Armored Division and the text has been pictured in bas relief. The bas relief is unfortunately rather weathered and crumbled and therefore not very readable. The English text on the plaque in the left hand wall reads: In honor to the 6th US Armored Division Battle of the Bulge 1944/45 The plaque which has been bricked into the right hand wall carries the French text. On the lawn in front of the monument to the left a German PAK 43/41 88mm gun has been placed (the yellow gun). In front of the monument to the right hand side an American Howitzer with the caliber of 105mm has been positioned (the green gun).
