From this train station, more than 150.000 Jews from the Lodz ghetto (Litzmannstadt) were deported between 16 January and 29 August 1944 to the extermination camps. [b]The train station today:[/b] It is since 2005 a Holocaust museum and memorial site dedicated to the Jewish Lodz victims.
