War Memorial Meigem

War memorial at Meigem to commemorate the military victims of the First and the Second World War. On Monday 27 May 1940, 27 citizens were killed in the church of Meigem. They were taken prison by the Germans who terrorized Meigem and Vinkt, when the church was hit by artillery-grenades. In total, there are 39 names written of civilians who died in May 1940.
