This memorial, at the Lonen War Cemetery, commemorates the Dutch crewmembers of the coastal batteries Peningki and Karoengan in the Dutch Indies. After their surrender, they were murdered on a Japanese ship near Tarakan and their bodies were thrown overboard. This memorial contains the names of the known victims. The names of the 125 other, most Indonesian, victims were not known. They are also commemorated.
