The memorial window of stained glass, made by Henk van den Burgt, shows a female figure. She forms a connection from being on the run for evacuees bombing (left) and a family at the breakfast table waiting for the evacuees (right). The window is a gift from the Roermond evacuees who were captured by the residents of Buitenpost in the hunger winter. The memorial window has a long storage located in the attic of the Town Hall. Mr. IJlstra, the local bookstore, found that the memorial window deserved more attention and after consultation, it was decided to hang the window in his shop. In the meantime, the store has been removed. The memorial window now has a nice place in the new Town Hall of Achtkarspelen and well above the entrance behind the glass front.
