This bunker of the German Festungsfront Oder-Warthe-Bogen (Ostwall a.k.a. East Wall) was built between 1937 and 1938. All of the Ostwall fortifications are connected by a 32 km long underground system of tunnels. On 28 January 1945 the red army launched an attack on the central part of the Ostwall. After 3 days of intense fightings the Russians made a break through in the central and southern parts. [b]The bunker today:[/b] Panzerwerk 724 is still in good condition and It is possible for visitors to reach the underground tunnel system through this bunker.
