Westerplatte - Ruins Barracks Westerplatte

On the Westerplatte peninsula in Gdansk, are found the remains of a number of barracks and blockhouses. In 1939, 188 Polish troops were stationed here and defended the peninsula for 7 days against the advancing German army. This struggle has been included in the history books as the 'battle for Westerplatte'.
