This castle was built between 1942 and 1943 and was intended as a residence for Otto von Wachter, the Gauleiter of the Krakau district. When Himmler visited Krakau, this castle was given to him by Gauleiter Otto Frank. From that point till 1945, the castle was used as sanatorium for Waffen-SS and Luftwaffe veterans.
