German War Graves Dorotheenstädtischer Friedhof

There are several private headstones on the Dorotheenstädtischer Friedhof for Germans who fell during the Battle of Berlin in 1945. There are also two mass graves: - 64 Germans who died in the Battle of Berlin. - 8 German resistance fighters who were shot by the Reichssicherheitshauptamt (RSHA) nearby on 23 April 1945 on suspicion of plotting the failed assassination attempt on Adolf Hitler of 20 July 1944. Their names were: Klaus Hans Martin Bonhoeffer Hans John Richard Kuenzer Carl Adolf Marks Wilhelm zur Nieden Friedrich Justus Leopold Perels Rüdiger Schleicher Hans Ludwig Sierks Also commemorated are: Dietrich Bonhoeffer (killed in KZ Flossenburg) Hans von Dohnanyi (killed in KZ Sachsenhausen) Justus Delbrück (perished in NKWD-camp Jamlitz) A number of graves on the Dorotheenstädtischer Friedhof are containing remembrance texts for family members who fell during the Battle of Berlin in 1945 and are missing in action or buried elsewhere.
