At Diemen's Jewish Cemetery in Field U is an urn field with 400 urns, which is remarkable in a Jewish cemetery because cremation is not customary within Judaism. These urns are of people who died in Camp Westerbork during World War II and were cremated there. There are also two war graves in which one grave contains an unknown Jewish victim who died on 21 February 1945. The other grave belongs to Sara Bak-van Buren. She ended her life under the pressure of circumstances on 5 August 1942.
