Memorial Execution Oosterduinen 8 April 1945

This memorial commemorates 8 members of the resistance who were executed here on 8 April 1945. The monument was designed by Piet Jaap Freeve (passed away on July 16th. 2022). The plaque reads: APRIL 8, 1945 THERE IS A KNOWING OF EACH OTHER THAT TIME AND DISTANCE WINS IDA GERHARDT S.H.W. BERGSMA 43 YEARS D. DENKEMA 54 YEARS H.F. DRESSEL HOUSE 43 YEARS B.T. 27 YEARS H.T. HUININGA 34 YEARS J. KAMMINGA 29 YEARS D. KRUITBOSCH 23 YEARS H. NAGEL 39 YEARS. The opening in the circle symbolizes the broken life of the executed resistance fighters.
