At the cemetery of Binsted rests Bernard Montgomery. Bernard Montgomery was born in 1887. During the First World War he fought in Flanders. During the Second World War he fought in Belgium and France (May-June 1940). In 1942 he led the Battle of El Alamein. During Operation Overlord, he led the 21st Army Group. He died in 1976.
