Former Gestapo Headquarters Limoges

British SOE agent Violette Szabo was transferred here from the nearby prison for interrogation over four days by the Gestapo in June 1944. On the 9th of June 1944 she was beaten, tortured and repeatedly raped but refused to talk. Szabo was subsequently transferred to Paris and then, eventually, to Ravensbruck Concentration Camp where reports indicate she was executed in February 1945.
