This memorial commemorates Cpl. Richard F. Wiegand who on this location at Trou du Loup, on 25 December 1944, managed to stop with a bazooka a German advance with tanks from Grandmenil to Erezée. Just in 1991, it became known that is he was the one who stopped the tanks. He was awarded posthumuously a Silver Star. Richard Wiegand is buried in Henri-Chapelle Plot H Row 2 Grave 52.
