Marcelis van Bemmel Sr. was the headchef of the local police in Monster and member of the resistance in World War II. He was shot at the Waalsdorpervlakte on 2 Juli 1942. His son, Marcelis van Bemmel Jr. was also a member of the resistance and died in Dachau concentration camp, on 27 February 1945. This plaque for Marcelis van Bemmel Sr. is located at the police-station Westland in Naaldwijk.
