De monument consists of a circular bench with a plaque which shows the following text: [i]"IN MEMORY OF THE UNITS OF THE 1st BRITISH AIRBORNE DIVISION AND OF THE 1st POLISH INDEPENDENT PARACHUTE BRIGADE GROUP WHICH LANDED IN THIS VICINITY ON 17, 18 AND 19 SEPTEMBER 1944. FROM HERE THEY ADVANCED IN THE DIRECTION OF ARNHEM TO SEIZE THE ROAD-BRIDGE AS PART OF OPERATION MARKET GARDEN. THIS BATTLE OF ARNHEM LASTED FROM 17 TO 26 SEPTEMBER 1944."[/i] The text is also in Dutch.
