Near the church of Noville is a plot with eight residents of Noville who were shot by the Gestapo on 21 December 1944. - Abbe Delvaux Louis - Beaujean Roger - Deprez Felix - Deprez François - Lutgen Auguste - Henkinet Romain - Rosiere Joseph - Stranen Michel The Gestapo had these men executed on the pretext that a signal device had been found in the church bells. However, the Germans never provided proof of their claim. During the liberation of Noville, the bodies of the executed were identified by: M.Louis doctor in Bourcy, M.Lecomte mayor and M.Massen municipal secretary.
