Memorial "Poles-Action" Altona

On 28 and 29 October 1938, the Nazis arrested many Polish Jews and deported them to the Polish border. Firstly, Poland did not wat to accept the Jews, later many of them were put in internment camps. The action "Polenaktion" was coordinated by Reinhard Heydrich and 17,000 Jews were deported. This memorial, at the railway station of Altona, commemorates more than 800 Polish Jews who were arrested on 28 October 1938 and deported to the Polish border.
